Mapping diversity workshop

Don Bosco 2000 is a place full of diversity. On Thursday 29th September 2022, the workshop on Mapping  Diversity took place at the center of unaccompanied minor migrants. Participants from different parts of Africa created a map and colored their countries. They were asked questions such as:

-Where do you come from?

-Where do you live now?

-Where would you like to live?

After answering each question, and making connections among countries, participants reflected together and shared their thoughts.

Tip: when working with migrants, make sure to have an interpreter, a safe space, and adapt the questions to the target group (avoid sensitive topics!).

Hi Jane!
A lot of reflections came up during the workshop. Seeing the size of their country compared to others, as well as the distance between their countries and Italy was something that really surprised them. Many participants said they would like to go back to their countries in the future, while others mentioned their interest to study in other European countries. In particular, many came from the same countries, but from different cities/towns.
